But if we Die.... Let it be in the Baptismal Font

Hey everybody!!!! Startin off with the questions of the week. Wow, it seems like I havent done that in a while haha.

-We still dont know when we move apartments... hopefully soon!
-The new apartment is kinda far from our sector but we would take the bus so it doesnt take very long
-Transfer days are now Monday... and we dont have a reunion. Its like the same in the rest of the missions now.... they just call you and tell you if you have changes.
-Neither of us cook very much. Hahaha
-I did try a recipe at the beginning of my mission but I havent made anything else since then hahaha

Anyways. This week was honestly pretty awesome. Hard... but great. We learned alot this week thanks to adversity. We have been working really hard with some new investigators we found 3 weeks ago to get baptized. They had accepted all the teachings, commitments, and a baptismal date (this saturday). Well, on Saturday when we went by their house to verify that everything was A-Okay to go to church... the mother told us that they were not going to continue in the church (punch in the face). I puked. Then we started trying to minister her need right then and there in the doorstep because there wasnt a man inside so we couldnt enter. Well, long story short.... the extended family of this family had heard that they were going to be baptized and freaked out and told them that they could not be baptized or they would disown them. Always hard seeing how much the adversary works.

But, a seed was planted in GOOD soil. The following example literally happened to almost every single one of our investigators this last week... problems with the family, and other things. BUT, we gonna go find some new people and BAP em! Thats whatcha gotta do! Just keep walking. Having a firm hope that Christ and His angels are preparing others to receive the gospel NOW.

I testify that Christ lives and loves us. I know that there are angels preparing the way to be able to receive the gospel. I also know that if we are not obedient, their work is in vain because we are not going to be worthy to receive such a blessing.

Love you guys so much!!! this is the zone 5 de Abril. STRAIGHT MACHINES!

The Weekly Email :)

Hey Everybody! Obviously there are no questions today for a good reason... because we got changed P-Days back to Mondays!

So, this last week was just pretty crazy! A lot of crazy things happened! :) Les explico.

-Firstly, last week President just called all of the mission and said SUPRISE CHANGES! Hahahah I am not sure why but it was pretty funny and very unexpected. So, Elder Clegg got called and we showed up on Wednesday in MaipĂș and he had transfers to TALAGANTE... in my old sector hahahaha. So funny. And I received Elder Mertz! Its funny because I only have 3 weeks here in the ward.. and he has like 3 days so we are both getting to know our sector and the people... and the zone. A lot of stuff to do. :)

Secondly, we had a meeting with President on Thursday where he explained to us that we are going back to the old schedule because the First Presidency has asked that all the missions be the same. So, from now on I will be writing on MONDAYS. :)

Now that that is all clear.

This week was great. We are being very blessed by the Lord with a ton a new people who have been prepared to receive the gospel in their lives.

Something really cool that happened this week was that we had the opportunity to go on divisions with missionaries from the MTC here in Chile. I left with an Elder Beard from Herriman UT. Even though he couldnt speak a TON, such a stud. We were able to invite 3 people to baptism and you better believe this stud invited them all! Truly incredible how the Lord makes us instruments in His hands. When I would stop teaching and look at him to have him teach he would ask me ¨What do I say?¨ and I would say ¨Testify, or ¨invite to baptism¨, or ¨explain the Restoration.¨ And even though the words came out a little shaky.. or not 100% correct, there was no doubt that these people we were talking to could feel the spirit. It is so powerful how the Lord uses US (18,19,20 year olds) to preach His amazing Gospel.

Holy monkey I just love the mission. I just love this gospel and my Savior Jesus Christ. I can feel His love that He has for me through studying the scriptures. Today I came across this verse:
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.Revelation 21: 3-4
May we study the scriptures daily! I invite all to seek to feel the love our Savior has for us through daily scripture study!
I love you all so much! Keep killin it and share the gospel!!!!!!!!

Surpriseeeeeee!!!

Craziest week ever.

-Sorry i forgot to send an email last week... i literally forgot hahahaha
-I am going to take a picture of the zone in 2 weeks more. :)
-Yeah, he got baptized.
-I made a ton of goals for 2016. it was weird as fetch because it was half for the mission and the other half not.
-i slept for new years. :)

So, I am gonna be brief because there is a ton of stuff going on and has been going on these past couple days hahahah.

Anyways, this week was amazing. We worked really hard a found a ton of new people who really have potential to be baptized. :) It was incredible.

So, two crazy stories real quick.

1. We got changed out of our house! Something reallyyyyyy ghetto happened to our next door neigbor so they took us out and now we are living with other Elders.
2. I am not going to be with Elder Clegg anymore. SO LAME. We got called last night and President is doing surprise changes with all the mission. We werent expecting it. I am really going to miss Elder Clegg. one of my best friends. We must take the changes with a humble heart!

I love this gospel. I will let everybody know what is going on and who i am with next week!

Yes, i stay in my sector. Elder Clegg is dippin out.

Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal

The first two words are the title.

Hey everyone!! I love you all. :)

Startin it up al tiro.

-I am now in 5 de Abril (5th of April). It is really city like. LOTS OF PEOPLE. Its amazing. :) I honestly am loving it.
-My companion is literally Nate Carr´s secret twin hahahaha. His name is Elder Clegg. He is from Logan, Utah and a straight killa. We are also from the same group.
-It wasnt that much of pain to move the packages to my new pension. Pretty easy actually!:)
-We are going to skype in the church here.

Sounds like the family is doing just great! Sounds like there is plenty of snow up there in the UT. SO cool. :) It is hotter than Satans armpit here but I am still enjoying it! :)

As I said, my turn to finally have changes! I am now in like the center of Santiago which is a big change from Talagante. I am really loving it though. There are sooooooo many people to baptize so that makes everyone happy. :) Elder Clegg and I really get along and we are working hard and having a great time. I love this work! :) The zone is really large and there are 12 companionships that work here.

Being short and sweet today. MERRY CHRISTMAS. I hope everyone that reads this has a great holiday and truly remembers the reason this date is celebrated. Jesus Christ lives. May we recognize the love our Heavenly Father has for each and every one of us, by sending His only Begotten Son to die for us. Without Christ, we cannot live with God again. We would be lost, and without hope. Thanks to the Atonement of Christ, we can be changed and become clean of sin. I know that to be true.

Remember that these next few days and forever! :)

Challenge: Serve someone before Christmas. Help them recognize the love our Heavenly Father has for them.

Keep slayin it!!!! (Sharing the gospel por su puesto)

I love you all

Time for Changes

Hey everyone! I am going to keep this letter short and sweet... I think all of my letters are pretty short anyways haha

-I havent opened any more Christmas presents. :) but I am excited to do so
-I started 12 Days of Christmas and it is amazing! Thankyou so much:)))
-I have no idea if the Hna Barreiros went to UT
-No one gave a Christmas tree this year but thats alright! :)
-I dont know if Chile has any Christmas traditions... not really. Hahah actually yes they do. So:

They eat dinner on Christmas Eve at like 10:30 at night. Then they stay up chatting until 12:00 at night. RIGHT when the clock ticks everyone opens up the presents that they received from Viejito Pascuero (Santa Claus). Kinda cool!

So tomorrow is the big Dale Brophy´s birthday to all those who are reading this! Give that guy a SHOUT OUT!

This week was incredible! Literally miracles! I would like to share one of them.

So, on Friday we found a guy named Hugo. He studies the Bible and has a lot of faith in Christ. He recently moved here to Talagante and lives alone. So, we taught him about the Restoration and gave him a Book of Mormon. Anyways, yesterday we went to his house and he is half way done with 1 Nephi and believes that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that the Book of Mormon is the word of God.

*Elder Brophy pukes*

So, testifying of the truthfullness of his statements, we invited him shortly after to be baptized. He accepted and will be baptized on the 2 day of January. Coolest thing about this experience? We didnt do anything. God prepared Hugo to receive the gospel.

I know with all my heart that this is the true gospel. Christ lives. I know. I know that if we as missionaries/members are obedient to the commandments of God, we will be blessed. I know there are angels preparing others to receive the gospel... and if we aren´t obedient the work they do is in vain because we are not worthy to receive that blessing.

I love you all. Talk to you all next week!

Oh ps... i have changes so i will tell everyone where I am next week!

Last week of Changes

Hey Everybody. :) Everybody looking fresh and usual. Gonna get into it.
-This last week was great! A lot to do but really amazing.
-We have seen a LOT of tender mercies this week. Stories below hahaha
-I have not taken a picture of the tree yet. But the Hna Barreiros took a picture of it because she loved it so much ahhaha
-I am not 100% sure when we are going to do skype yet haha

So, this week was great. We had a LOT to do like i said but very grateful for the things I have learned this week. We had meetings this week, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in the mornings. Hahaha so that was kinda interesting but very edifying.

This is the last week of changes. Next Mondayy we will know which missionaries in the zone have changes.

But this last week we had the oportunity to have a meeting with the Stake President here and talk about the stake and the things we can do to help it progress. It was a very edifying meeting being able to think, ponder, and plan about the members/missionaries that are here in this Stake. The stake president expressed his gratitud towards the missionaries who are serving and shared his personal experience he had in his own mission. I know that through the priesthood power, we can make covenants of obedience with God. ¨Without these covenants. There is not salvation.¨ -President Barreiros

But yeah killas. Its amazing. My companion and I are having a great time preaching, walking, kicking rocks in the street between each others legs and screaming ¨nutmeg!¨, and testifying of the truth. I love this gospel! I love all of you! I testify Christ lives and loves each and everyone of us. He is our perfect example. May we follow Him.

Thanksgiving... What is that?

Starting it up!

-The Thanksgiving dinner was great! I really enjoyed it! President is the best.
-They fed over 180 missionaries!
-I still have my Christmas tie to wear!
-I have listened to almost all the recordings!
-I have only opened up 3 ties out of the Christmas box.... hahahaha i had to! but the rest I havent looked at!
-i hung up the tree and all the ornaments on it! loooooks so tight. :)

Anyways, sounds like things are CRAZY at home. :) But thats great. Sister getting married... Thanksgiving.... Christmas comin soon..... Pops retiring..... The usual right? :)

Well, this week was amazing. :) We had a baptism!!! :) Filomena (who is 82 years old) was baptized on Friday night. :) It was incredible what she did because even after receiving comments from her family that told her not to be baptized, she made the decision to follow Christ and enter the waters of baptism. :) Elder Harries and I both had to get into the baptismal font to help her into the water. It was a very spiritual experience I will never forget. :)

Also, something that was CRAZY that happened on Sunday was the following.

So after church we were straight walking back to the pension really quickly before lunch to drop off our suits and 20 feet away from our house a HUGE forest fire start out of nowhere. Not even kidding, flames over 40 feet tall just start on the other side of the road we were on. So, watching to see if we needed to move our stuff out of our house and leave, a TON of Chileans just come out of nowhere with water and hoses and start fighting the fire likes machines! Hahahah it was EPIC. Then, the firemen arrived and started busting stuff up. At the end, they controled the fire, we didnt have to move and everything was just covered in ashes. Pretty cool story eh?

hahahah but thats it! I love you all so much. I know that Christ lives! I know that He showed us the way and commands that we follow Him. I know that as we are baptized, we receive a remission of our sins. I know that to enter into Gods kingdom, we must be baptized by someone with the proper authority. :) I know these things to be true with all my heart.

Love you all
