Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal

The first two words are the title.

Hey everyone!! I love you all. :)

Startin it up al tiro.

-I am now in 5 de Abril (5th of April). It is really city like. LOTS OF PEOPLE. Its amazing. :) I honestly am loving it.
-My companion is literally Nate Carr´s secret twin hahahaha. His name is Elder Clegg. He is from Logan, Utah and a straight killa. We are also from the same group.
-It wasnt that much of pain to move the packages to my new pension. Pretty easy actually!:)
-We are going to skype in the church here.

Sounds like the family is doing just great! Sounds like there is plenty of snow up there in the UT. SO cool. :) It is hotter than Satans armpit here but I am still enjoying it! :)

As I said, my turn to finally have changes! I am now in like the center of Santiago which is a big change from Talagante. I am really loving it though. There are sooooooo many people to baptize so that makes everyone happy. :) Elder Clegg and I really get along and we are working hard and having a great time. I love this work! :) The zone is really large and there are 12 companionships that work here.

Being short and sweet today. MERRY CHRISTMAS. I hope everyone that reads this has a great holiday and truly remembers the reason this date is celebrated. Jesus Christ lives. May we recognize the love our Heavenly Father has for each and every one of us, by sending His only Begotten Son to die for us. Without Christ, we cannot live with God again. We would be lost, and without hope. Thanks to the Atonement of Christ, we can be changed and become clean of sin. I know that to be true.

Remember that these next few days and forever! :)

Challenge: Serve someone before Christmas. Help them recognize the love our Heavenly Father has for them.

Keep slayin it!!!! (Sharing the gospel por su puesto)

I love you all

Time for Changes

Hey everyone! I am going to keep this letter short and sweet... I think all of my letters are pretty short anyways haha

-I havent opened any more Christmas presents. :) but I am excited to do so
-I started 12 Days of Christmas and it is amazing! Thankyou so much:)))
-I have no idea if the Hna Barreiros went to UT
-No one gave a Christmas tree this year but thats alright! :)
-I dont know if Chile has any Christmas traditions... not really. Hahah actually yes they do. So:

They eat dinner on Christmas Eve at like 10:30 at night. Then they stay up chatting until 12:00 at night. RIGHT when the clock ticks everyone opens up the presents that they received from Viejito Pascuero (Santa Claus). Kinda cool!

So tomorrow is the big Dale Brophy´s birthday to all those who are reading this! Give that guy a SHOUT OUT!

This week was incredible! Literally miracles! I would like to share one of them.

So, on Friday we found a guy named Hugo. He studies the Bible and has a lot of faith in Christ. He recently moved here to Talagante and lives alone. So, we taught him about the Restoration and gave him a Book of Mormon. Anyways, yesterday we went to his house and he is half way done with 1 Nephi and believes that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that the Book of Mormon is the word of God.

*Elder Brophy pukes*

So, testifying of the truthfullness of his statements, we invited him shortly after to be baptized. He accepted and will be baptized on the 2 day of January. Coolest thing about this experience? We didnt do anything. God prepared Hugo to receive the gospel.

I know with all my heart that this is the true gospel. Christ lives. I know. I know that if we as missionaries/members are obedient to the commandments of God, we will be blessed. I know there are angels preparing others to receive the gospel... and if we aren´t obedient the work they do is in vain because we are not worthy to receive that blessing.

I love you all. Talk to you all next week!

Oh ps... i have changes so i will tell everyone where I am next week!

Last week of Changes

Hey Everybody. :) Everybody looking fresh and usual. Gonna get into it.
-This last week was great! A lot to do but really amazing.
-We have seen a LOT of tender mercies this week. Stories below hahaha
-I have not taken a picture of the tree yet. But the Hna Barreiros took a picture of it because she loved it so much ahhaha
-I am not 100% sure when we are going to do skype yet haha

So, this week was great. We had a LOT to do like i said but very grateful for the things I have learned this week. We had meetings this week, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in the mornings. Hahaha so that was kinda interesting but very edifying.

This is the last week of changes. Next Mondayy we will know which missionaries in the zone have changes.

But this last week we had the oportunity to have a meeting with the Stake President here and talk about the stake and the things we can do to help it progress. It was a very edifying meeting being able to think, ponder, and plan about the members/missionaries that are here in this Stake. The stake president expressed his gratitud towards the missionaries who are serving and shared his personal experience he had in his own mission. I know that through the priesthood power, we can make covenants of obedience with God. ¨Without these covenants. There is not salvation.¨ -President Barreiros

But yeah killas. Its amazing. My companion and I are having a great time preaching, walking, kicking rocks in the street between each others legs and screaming ¨nutmeg!¨, and testifying of the truth. I love this gospel! I love all of you! I testify Christ lives and loves each and everyone of us. He is our perfect example. May we follow Him.

Thanksgiving... What is that?

Starting it up!

-The Thanksgiving dinner was great! I really enjoyed it! President is the best.
-They fed over 180 missionaries!
-I still have my Christmas tie to wear!
-I have listened to almost all the recordings!
-I have only opened up 3 ties out of the Christmas box.... hahahaha i had to! but the rest I havent looked at!
-i hung up the tree and all the ornaments on it! loooooks so tight. :)

Anyways, sounds like things are CRAZY at home. :) But thats great. Sister getting married... Thanksgiving.... Christmas comin soon..... Pops retiring..... The usual right? :)

Well, this week was amazing. :) We had a baptism!!! :) Filomena (who is 82 years old) was baptized on Friday night. :) It was incredible what she did because even after receiving comments from her family that told her not to be baptized, she made the decision to follow Christ and enter the waters of baptism. :) Elder Harries and I both had to get into the baptismal font to help her into the water. It was a very spiritual experience I will never forget. :)

Also, something that was CRAZY that happened on Sunday was the following.

So after church we were straight walking back to the pension really quickly before lunch to drop off our suits and 20 feet away from our house a HUGE forest fire start out of nowhere. Not even kidding, flames over 40 feet tall just start on the other side of the road we were on. So, watching to see if we needed to move our stuff out of our house and leave, a TON of Chileans just come out of nowhere with water and hoses and start fighting the fire likes machines! Hahahah it was EPIC. Then, the firemen arrived and started busting stuff up. At the end, they controled the fire, we didnt have to move and everything was just covered in ashes. Pretty cool story eh?

hahahah but thats it! I love you all so much. I know that Christ lives! I know that He showed us the way and commands that we follow Him. I know that as we are baptized, we receive a remission of our sins. I know that to enter into Gods kingdom, we must be baptized by someone with the proper authority. :) I know these things to be true with all my heart.

Love you all

Consecration

Brothers and Sister! Killas and Killers.

My week was amazing. Thanks. :)
I got the packages holy cow they are HUGE. You guys spoil me!
I have listened to a couple recordings. Not all of them yet but they are awesome!
I think we are going to find a new family to baptize on Thursday and that will be our Thanksgiving dinner hahha!

SO, I am super hyped right now! Honeslty, this week has been great! I was able to do divisions with the Elders of my first sector (Calera de Tango). We visited a couple families that I visited while I was there. It was amazing to see the people again and to see how much they had changed! A couple of them even got baptized!!! :)

We also celebrated Elder Harries birthday yesterday and today with cake, ice cream, and some good old soccer as a zone. :)

Anyways, to make this a short and sweet one. I would just love to take the opportunity to testify of the Atonement of Christ. I have felt its effect in my life here on the mission. My desires have changed since the day I arrived at the CCM to today. I am here because I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ. I know they live and love us so much. I know without a DOUBT, that when we are obedient to the commandments of the Lord, we are blessed. Obedience is a celestial law. May we evaluate ourselves and ask God ¨What Lack I Yet?.¨ I know that if we asked humbly and with real intent, we can use the Atonement to continue to improve.

I leave this with you all in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior, Amen.

Love

Spin-Move Fade-Away Baptism

Hey everybody!! :) I hope everyone is doing great. :) We are going to start right with it answering the Q´s of my best buds!

-My packages are here! WOOO
-I think I will be emailing Tuesday in the mornings from now on (like right now). But if anything changes I will surely let you guys know!
-I havent gotten a leather scripture cover yet because I am going to buy it towards the end of my mission to use at home.
-I got my priesthood line of authority! thanks so much for that mom! :) Tell Bishop Bovee that I freaking love him and to write me!
-I am not 100% what we are going to do yet for Thanksgiving. Probably work!!!
-I am over my sickness now! so thats awesome. :)

Sounds like everything is just crazy (as usual) at home so I am going to be focusing my email today on what the heck is going on here in Chile!

Well, this week was amazing. Elder Harries and I are working hard here in Talagante having a great time Well, this week I was able to do divisions with one of the missionaries here in the zone that is in Melipilla! SO, i was able to go back to one of my favorite sectors and work hard with him. We had an amazing time. As a matter of fact, since this missionary was new in his sector he didnt know a ton of what to do. So, after contacting ALL day and not having a ton of success we decided to say a prayer and ask for the guidance of the Holy Ghost. Well, after doing so, we knocked on a door and found a 19 year old kid that had talked to missionaries before. We taught the Restoration and invited him to come to church and told us he would!! I know miracles exist like that, that God prepares the way for all things to come to pass.

Something else that was super awesome this week was with Elder Harries. hahahahha this kid is so awesome. We get along really well. Well, we made brownies this morning and ate half a 9x13 pan and when we get back right now we are going to eat the other half. Well, thats about it here! There are obviously 1000 other amazing things that happen throughout the week here but I cant take up too much time (thats why I have a journal).

I know Christ lives. I know that He knows me personally and knows each and every one of you. He loves you so much and wants us to return to live with Him again. May we make the changes in our lives to be able to live with Him again. I love you all

Talagante... Brillante, Adelante, Elegante!

Starting with the Q´s. :)

-My new companion is Elder Harries.
-He has the exact same amount of time as me. (We were in the same district in the CCM). He is from Atlanta, Georgia.
-Its just us two in our apartment
-Sometimes we have to travel a good hour to 2 hours to get to places to do divisions with other missonaries etc.
-This yummy pizza place I like is called Blueys. Its an american based pizzeria. :)
-We get mail tomorrow! Woooohoooo. :)

Alrighty!!! :) So starting off. This week was amazingggg! Due to my sickness, I lost my voice for a couple days but we kept on working and were blessed! Working with Elder Harries is AWESOME. We are best buds! Hahaha knowing him a little bit before, then becomeing companions was a pretty funny experience.

The Lord was very merciful with us this week and prepared a TON of new people that we found this week. We found a ton of new people. :) We put a baptismal date with an 82 year old lady for the 21 of November and she wants to be baptized! Pretty incredible. :)

This change, we as a companionship and zone have the goal of doing 3 things this change.

1. Develop more faith in our Savior Jesus Christ

2. Baptize every single month

3. Increase the attendance through working with the members of the Church.

I know Christ lives! He loves us SO MUCH. I know that we are blessed according to our OBEDIENCE to the commandments. May we obey with joy and a loving heart. I support and sustain our Priesthood leaders here on this earth. I know this is Christs church and communicates with us through His living prophet.

I love you all and pray for you daily!!

THE MISSION IS THE BEST!:)

In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Last week of Changes. BUSY!

Alrighty Kiddos. We starting off with the Q´s. :)
-Elder Mendoza went home today! He is in his house now! Thats pretty crazy!:)
-He lives like 6 hours in car and 1 hour in plane
-I dont know who my companion is until tomorrow but i am staying in Talagante.
-We meet with President Barreiros i would say like 3-4 times every change.
-Madi wrote me a long email last week so I guess she doesnt need to change her wedding date. :(
-Sis. Barreiros takes out the trash mom. She is always teaching side by side with President!
-Hahahah that was the zone of Melipilla a long time ago. When I first received Elder Lozano!

Well, it sounds like the kids are doing well in school! Thats awesome that emma worked really hard to get a 4.0 and received a phone for it! Congrats Emmalou! :) Another huge S/O to mah boi Peebs for rocking a 4.0 as well. Now you just need to get a 4.0 in scripture study dood.

Well, everything has been great this week! It is the last week of changes so we were VERY VERY busy doing a lot of things and last minute check-ups. On thursday I was literally on the phone for like 3 hours straight checking up on things hahah! SO, you could say I am a little tired but SUPER EXCITED. I loveeee being here and serving the missionaries. I will receive my new companion tomorrow so I ask all to please pray that Pres. Barreiros can receive revelation for the mission on where the Lord wants His servants.

We say a miracle this week with one of our investigators named Ivonne. We found her contacting in the street and we started teaching her about the Atonement of Christ. Well, using Alma 7 she really felt like that scripture really applied to her and felt the light of Christ very strongly. Sadly, she had already planned to be out of town for the weekend but on Friday night before she left, she came to an activity in the chapel! She absolutely lovedddd it and was constantly smiling. I know she felt the light of Christ in that moment. We are planning on putting a baptismal date with her for the 21 of November. Please keep her in your prayers that she may receive this essential ordinance in her life!

I freaking love the mission and preaching the gospel. I know Christ lives and suffered for each and every one of us. I know he knows each and every one of us and is always reaching his arm out towards us. May we use this sacrifice in our lives daily and help others apply it in their lives. SHARE THE GOSPEL!

I love you all!

The Last Supper.... of Elder Mendoza

HEYYYYY ERRYBUDY.

-Yes, this is my last week with my companion Elder Mendoza because he goes home. :(
-I wont know who my new companion is until Wednesday.... so you are all going to have to wait. :(
-I have started using the audio thingy a ton so I can send recordings to you guys!
-In the ward i am serving in, there are about 155 people that attend regularly.
-We meet in a pretty big chapel.
-I dont ride a bike in this area.

Well, this week has been absolutely amazing. We have had a TON of things to do this last week but it was all worth it. A couple things we did this week are the following:

Well, we had a meeting with Pres. Barreiros this week which was soooo amazing. We talked about the light that we, as missionaries, have. The light we have (also as members of the Church) is an example to those who can see.

For example. The ward you serve in sees the light and excitement a missionary has when he arrives his first Sunday. The people in the street that see us can see the smile on our face that says ¨Yes, we are truly happy.¨ Its the sickest thing ever. We need to help others not only see this light... but feel the light within themselves. How? Through sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ! I invite all to think of the blessings and happiness the gospel has brought to your life and share it with others. Visit the sick and weary. Help the poor and needy. I promise God will bless you.

The second thing that was tight was the baptism of Felipe Riquelme. HE FINALLY GOT IN THE WATER. Heck yeah. Well, this last week he had actually asked me to baptize him. So, we traveled to Melipilla (with the consent of Pres.) and I was able to help in that sacred ordinance. Here is a picture hahaha

I love you all. Be safe and live the gospel. I testify there is not a greater joy felt than that of the Gospel.

Christ lives! Hurrah for Israel!!!! hahaha

La Hiel.

THA Q´s

-Everything is great in Talagante. Workin hard!
-You found the right belt... you are amazing mom.
-My ward is Talagante 2
-I dont know a Muñoz family.... what ward are they from?
-Manuel and Camila are great! they didnt come to church this week though which was kinda lame but next week for sure!
-It isn't for sure how many times we go to the temple... but i think at least once every 2 months!
-The wedding of Felipe and Andrea was this morning but i wasnt able to go because the wedding services here are on strike... so dumb hahaha

I have to be SUPER fast today so this email is going to be superrrr short for the worlds (#Famous)

Well, this week was amazing. Working hard and seeing the Lord´s hand in everything we do. We have found other investigators of whom we are going to put more baptismal dates so that they can receive the remission of their sins. FREAKING LOVE THE MISSION. SO amazing.

I am going to close with a short testimony. I know Christ lives and paid for all of our sins. I know that when we are disobedient, we cannot receive the blessings He has in store for us. An elder this week asked me that... what am i doing, that makes Christ suffer more? (I puked then thought about it). May we all ask ourselves this question and make the changes necessary to receive exaltation. I love you all and I love this gospel! BAPTIZE THE WORLD KILLAS

Breathe, Eat, Sleep Baptisms. -President Barreiros

Hey everybody!!! :) I hope everybody is doing just splendid. Going to throw a quick shoutout to the Brophy Family (world-wide) for just straight bein killas.

-New or excited in Talagante. Yes!!! This week was a week of MIRACLES. Elder Mendoza and I were very much blessed by the Lord and we brought 5 investigators to church this week. It was INCREDIBLE. So, we are praying and acting that we can baptize these next 3 weekends of this change (the last change of my companion.)
-We find the majority of our investigators knocking on doors.
-Well... funny story. So in Melipilla this weekend there is a baptism of a girl Elder Lozano and I taught and the investigator that is getting married the next weekend (24 Oct.) which I am going to be able go to!:) SO TIGHT!
-They do celebrate Halloween here but its like...... pretty lame to be honest waaa.
-The book you sent me was the Infinite Atonement! I am in the process of reading it.

So this week, like i have mentioned earlier was just full of miracles. These first 3 weeks Elder Mendoza and I have been tested in trying to put baptismal dates with our investigators but yesterday we were able to put 3 new baptismal dates with our investigators. They are married and expecting a little girl next month! So please pray for Manuel and Camila!

This week we also went HAMBONI in the pension we live in, and deep cleaned that trash (I went Angela-status up in there.) Its very true that you feel the spirit in a clean and organized house... (thanks mom.) :)

As a matter of fact, shout out to my mother for being amazing. I love you so much mom. You are the best ya know? Being a mother is a GRAND responsibility and thank goodness my Mom is really good at it. :) I hope that one day I can marry a woman like my mother.

Something amazing that happened this week was that I had the opportunity to go to the temple. The temple of Santiago is very very very close to a very busy road that tends to be very loud.... but when you enter you could NEVER guess that you are right next to a road. What a blessing we have to have temples on the earth. I know it is the house of the Lord.

I love you all so much. Everybody be safe! I am praying constantly for you all! Please include my companion and I in your prayers!

Loveeeeee

Tool

Hahahah sorry I put the subject of the email like that because it was the first word that came to my mind when I saw my brothers school picture hahahahahaha

The Q´s
-I watched the Conference in the Stake Center of Talagante, I watched it in english:)
-I like being in the apartment with my comp... usually because I am more focused... but it is also really edifying and fun with 4 in a house... but either way!
-I am actually working in Talagante. :)
-We teach all 30 in the Zone every week.
-We go by inspiration. Look at how the missionaries are doing and how they are working and pray for the spirit to guide us!
-Experience of the week.

Well, this week was honestly amazing. Getting to know my sector, getting used to the Zone, and just have a great time. My companion and I have been working very hard this last week looking for new people to teach and baptize. So, with that being said we have been contacting and asking for references alot. Well, on Saturday night, after the conference, we went running around contacting everybody in sight hahaha. Well, with no success for an hour and 58 minutes (we had to be heading back to the house in 2 minutes) we said that we would ¨knock one more door.¨ Well, when we did, Gonzalo came out and immediately let us in. We started teaching him and asking him questions about his family and he told us that he would love to see his mother who had recently died again. We obviously began to teach him about the Plan of Salvation in which he loved. He gave us his phone number and asked us to come back another day. Today we are going to go back and we are going to invite him to be baptized for the 18th of October. Please pray for him! :)

I love this gospel and that God is a God of miracles. May our motto be, ¨One more door.¨ May we never give up and always take in account the Atonement of our Savior. I know He lives and loves every one of us. I know he looks at us as who we can become, not as who we are or who we were before. May we ask whatwe need to change in our lives to more completely live the Gospel and help others come unto Christ. I know Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet. What a blessing to be able to listen to the prophet from all ends of the earth.

I love you all! You all the bomb. :)

Guess Who´s Back

Heyyyyy everybody! :) We starting out the email straight answering the questions from mah Mom.

-Yes, I am back in Talagante AGAIN. Holy cow. So much time here hahaha but pretty cool!:) My companion is Elder Mendoza from Chile! (Another Chilean!)
-It was pretty funny/cool being called as ZL because the whole zone of Talagante did the typical ¨Ooooooohh¨ hahahah.
-Its pretty much the same as DL but you are in charge of more missionaries and give classes to the whole zone.
-I am going to be able to watch the conference here in Talagante! ALL of the sessions except Priesthood because it starts too late at night. :(
-My new apartment is in an apartment complex. 2 rooms. A bathroom (my comp. destroys it every morning...) and a kitchen! Pretty simple. :) We live us 2 no más.
-I havent felt an aftershock for a while now so I think everything is good. haha
-I read Nate´s email. So funny. Shout out to Elder Carr in Canada for taking out the trash with the BoM and being hilarious. hahaha

Well, this week really started on Wednesday after the changes meeting. I brought all my bags to the new pension, then we left right away to start working. My new sector is awesome! It´s in the city of Talagante and there are a ton of people to teach!

My new companion is going home in November so this is His last change! I am going to ¨kill¨ another companion! He is super funny and a good kid. We get along pretty well! We had a zone meeting (there are 30 missionaries in the zone) that was very edifying. We spoke about Diligence, Obedience, and Planning Effeciently (I can´t spell in English). The missionaries here are amazing and take out the TRASH! We are really excited for this month and for the month of October to work really hard and see the Lord´s hand in everything we do.

Anyways... its the end of the month so I have no money so I am going to eat granola bars for breakfast this week.

There are so many dogs here that just want to bite the missionaries its disgusting.

I love you all. Christ lives and loves us. May we follow His perfect example. I know the Book of Mormon contains the fullness of the Gospel. ANYONE that reads it, ponders, and asks of God if it is true with faith and real intent, will come to know that Christ lives and has His church here on the earth.

The Earth wont let me sleep

Hahahahah buenaaaaaa. Como están? Alrighty, I am going to start out with the questions first.

-After the earthquake, i have felt literally like 100 aftershocks hahahah. It has been REALLY weird here lately... it has shaken hard a lot lately. Pretty weird eh? As a matter of fact, thats why the title is the earth wont let me sleep because I am always waking up in the middle of the night shaking because there are aftershocks or little earthquakes hahaha. Geez man.
-It feels like the ground just starts moving in every single direction... its weird to explain... you just have to feel it. It didnt do any damage to our house which is really good. :)
-When it happened, we were in the street contacting people hahah so we walking to a field so nothing would fall on us.
-Even though it always happens here, the people freaked out more than I did... i dont know why but they were very preoccupied.
-I finally have transfers.... :( :) I do the both faces because i have mixed feelings. SO, tomorrow we will know where I am going!!... well, I will know where I am going hahaha. Please pray for my future companion and investigators!
-As of this moment I am still a DL.
-Elder Lozano doesnt have transfers so he is holding down the fort here taking out the trash! Crazy!

Anyways, this week was amazing! My final week in Melipilla. :( It was a great week because we worked really hard this last week to end the transfer and because it was the 18 and 19 of September which is the HUGE holiday here in Chile. Wow,... I have NEVER eaten so much meat and empanadas in my life. Honestly, these days were a little rough as missionaries because almost nobody wants to listen to you... but it is cool because the members here are really nice and invite the missionaries to their house to eat and teach some relatives or friends. (Good time eh). So thats what we did!

Besides that, I am just so grateful to have served here in Melipilla. I love this place. I will miss it but I am ready to meet the others that i need to find! I know that Christ lives and loves us. Families can be eternal. I know that when we are obedient, God will bless us.

Sigan siendo fieles y siga sacando la mugre!

Les quiero mucho!

Con cariño

Pomaire

Killas. :)

-I am doing good Mom. How are you all doing?
-I am not sure where they are going to go after the mission but I THINK Florida!
-Anything fun this last week of Transfer.... I am going to work A LOT! Annnnnd this week we have the 18 and 19 (its like the 4th of July but for Chile) which is going to be super cool!
-We are going to know if we get transfered on Monday.... pretty crazy! I think I am heading out of here.
-Today we played soccer at the church (my team didnt lose killas), then we went to this little town named Pomaire and ate HUGE empanadas. We went as a zone!
-The best thing I have made for dinner... nothing hahahaha. In Chile people dont eat dinner here.
-The missionary that cooks the most is Elder Lozano because he is kinda a chef. And he cooks really well!
-I havent made chocolate chip cookes hahahah... i should this week!

Well, this week was awesome! We gave a lot of service this week. On Friday we helped paint one of our converts house in the morning and on Saturday we went and dug a huge ditch in Talagante for a member or something like that... it was a good time! :)

Here in Melipilla everything is going well... we have a lot of people that are listening to us in these moments and that want to get baptized... they just need (like the rest of the people here in Chile) to get married hahahah! But thats chill. :) It has been super hot here in Chile lately and I am not diggin it too much... I love the cold i have decided.

This week we were able to visit one of our baptismal dates and help them plan there wedding! They are getting married in October and he is going to get baptized the next weekend! SO SICK!. He is a machine and thats why I put this picture.

Anyways.. everything is normal! The distirct meetings are super fun to teach and help others. Melipilla is amazingggggggggg but I am kinda sorta ready to head out. I guess we will see next week!

I love you all. I know this gospel is true. Be faithful and pray always. Christ lives and loves us.

USA, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico...

Hahaha the titles of my emails are so weird.
Starting with the questions from my best bud. :)

-Correct. We have changes on the 23rd. We will know them on Monday the 21st... Crazy! I am thinking my time in Melipilla has ended... but you may never know!
-Alvaro is doing great. He hasn´t come to church yet. :( But we have a lesson with him tonight and we are going to be very direct and pray that the spirit touches his heart. I would ask if you all could do the same please.
-Today has been chillie. But i am nice and warm. Walking around in a shirt no más because I love the cold here hahah. :)
-We eat at members homes everyday except Pday. (We cook ourselves... today we made Lasagna)
-The youth in the ward are super awesome. There are probably like 15 in total. We dont work a ton with them besides when they want to leave and help us with our appointments which is always awesome!
-We go door to door talking to people here in Chile. We dont get a TON of referrals but igual... they are nice!
-We live 4 in our apartment. It is actually pretty freaking clean. I love it hahaha.
-I have been really lazy this last week with my exercises but I am going to wake up earlier to exercise more. :)

WE have a great time here in the pension. There are 4 people from 4 different countries which makes it kinda funny. I have to be really fast this week because I didnt plan very well of how i was going to write.

But, we are having a great time and working hard. We are hoping for a baptism this weekend and praying a ton that everything works out. I love you all so much and know this gospel is true. There is nothing that makes me more happy than share the Gospel. I know Christ lives. I know that He loves us. I know that He knows each and everyone of us and has a plan for us. I know that He is a resurrected being and is our perfect example of obedience and diligence. I know that as we strive to become more like Him, we will feel the Holy spirit in our lives and be able to help others come unto Him as well. I love this gospel and the mission. It has been the greatest decision I have ever made.

Elder Bello and I pretending that we need glasses hahahaha. Killin it :)

Killa Plz...

Alrighty... so an awesome email today but we are going to start off with the questions like usual!:)

-A couple cool/interesting things happened this week hahaha i will explain in the email.
-The wife and kid got baptized this last Friday!:) WOOOHOOOO the photo is at the bottom!:)
-okay... i didnt get hit by a car really... it just bumped me and knocked me over and it was like 6 months ago...
-No there arent any other interesting things that have happened to me that I am hiding from you guys.... hahahah:)
-I havent used my bigcoat... its not very cold here... now its SO HOT.
-The SD cards you sent me arent blank. They have recordings on them!
-My favorite thing to eat in Chile.... probably a BBQ that they do or a completo. (hot dog but better than a hot dog)
-I almost never drink soda. I drink juice (fruit) every single day of my life here though.

ALSO, HUGE SHOUTOUT to my little sister for her birthday this last week. SHE IS A BEAST and I love her so much. Everybody give this girl a huge shoutout for being the big birthday girl. :)

Soooooo. This week was amazing. Literally SO SICK. We visited a TON of people and were able to see the Lords hand in everything we do as missionaries. One of the cooooolest things that happened this week was that Teresa and Axel got baptized! (totally drowned them). Friday night, a TON of the ward came and Elder Lozano and I were both able to baptize! I baptized Axel and Elder Lozano baptized Teresa. It was a moment I will never forget. The spirit was felt so strong and after the baptism they really expressed their thanks. It just gave me so much joy that we were able to be instruments in the Lords hands to bring others unto Him. A year from now they will all be sealed in the temple as a family:)

Another COOL thing that happened was on Sunday when they were to be confirmed and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Well, usually the bishop always confirms the people in this ward. Well, when Axel sat down he whispered something to the Bishop and the bishop pointed at me and told me to come up to the stand. So I walked up and he tells me.... ¨Hey, you are going to confirm him.¨ Hahahahah I was like HUH? But it was such an experience to be able to confirm Axel and give him a blessing after. The spirit was present.

The mission is amazing. Literally. I love it so much. It has never been a sacrifice, but a priveledge. Incredible to be able to share the Gospel in every moment not needed to worry about the things of the world. I dont want it to end. May (talking to the missionaries serving right now) we use every single day... minute.... second to our advantage and be obedient to the Lords will. Let us cast out our will and do as Nephi did... follow the will of the Lord. I love you all so much you guys are all beasts. :)

Holy Flem....

Sooooo this is going to be a quicky hahah. :) BUT to empezar... the questions peeps.

-I finally got my Birthday package! Woooooohooooo I freaking loveee it. As you can see I used the scarf as seen is this photo.
-In this ward I almost never have the opportunity to bless the sacrament because there are enough young men to do it!

ALRIGHTY, so this week was CRAZY! We had changes and yes there was a little bit of a change for my companion and I...

We received 2 more other sectors and combined it with our old one. SO... now our sector is HUGE. Hahah but I loveee it. :) We are super excited to work and we are working a TON. My companion is just such a beast hahahah. :)

So, this week we had a baptism! It was so cool. His name is Felipe (a different Felipe than the one that has to get married). HE IS A MACHINE. HAhah he totally understands the gospel and is going to be an amazing priesthood holder. It was an amazing experience. Something else that happened this week was a lesson with an investigator that we are teaching. His name is Alvaro. We taught the Plan of Salvation and explained the Atonement.... and GEEZ you guys the spirit was so stong it was incredible. We invited Alvaro to be baptized and he told us no at first because he wasnt sure because he knew the importance of the baptism and the commitment it would be between him and God. But he said that He thinks that these things are true but wants to ask God if they are to be sure. WELL, at the end of the lesson we asked Him to say the final prayer and he did.... and he totally asked if all these things are true right then and there in front of us! HOLY cow. Please, pray for Alvaro that he can recognize the answer from God when it comes. I know He is going to be baptized soon because he is a beast. HAhah but it was legit one of the coolest lessons of my entire mission. :)

Well, I gotta go but i love you all. BE SAFE and keep sharing the gospel. GIVE REFERENCES to the missionaries. I beg of ya´ll.

Love

Changes.

Soooo weird that I am emailing on a Tuesdayyyy but i can explain hahaha
BUT FIRST.

-The mail weeks are very weird mom... i honestly dont even know how they work anymore but i am going to try to get my package tomorrow. :)
-We have Zone Conferences when President tells us to have them. they are pretty random. :)
-My clothes are holding up great... i bought a fresh pair of Gs the other day. Heck ya
-My shoes are holding up great! Thanks mom. :)
-The investigators are doing great that need to be married. Their names are Felipe and Andrea.

Well, this week has been celestial. We took out the trashhhhhh and had a GREAT time. Well--

To explain things first. In the mission our Pday is now Tuesday. Thats about the only thing I know at this point. Tomorrow we are going to know more things. BUT, something I do know is that my companion and I are staying in Melipilla! Hahaha holy cow I am going to be here at the very least 7 1/2 months.... pretty long time! I love it here. :) Sadly... Elder Parker and Elder Cummings are leaving. :( They got straight white washed out of there. :( So yeah.

Something cool that happened this week (and kinda lame) was that my companion was pretty sick. So we had to come back to the house for a little bit and he laid down to rest and asked for a priesthood blessing. So, I gave him one... he laid down (no joke) for 5 minutes and got back up and felt GREAT so we were able to immediately start working again! SO SICK. I was soooo happy. :) My companion is a beast. We get along pretty well hahah. :)

We also had the priveledge to go to the temple (all the trainers and their companions) to go through a session. WOW did I need that. It was pretty incredible. The spirit is so strong in the temple you can touch it i swear. I love that place and I testify that it is the closest we can get to heaven here on earth.

I also received a good lesion to the face this week hahahah. Elder Cummings, Elder Parker, and I were all wrestling and fighting have a good ole time when Elder Parker just lands on my face and I got a funny looking cut on my temple hahha. So that was pretty fun. We have had a great time with these Elders and they are great examples to me.

Bueno... to end I would like to testify of the power of the Priesthood. What a blessing to have the priesthood to be healed... comforted... baptized... sealed. I know that the Priesthood is a blessing for all mankind. That if held worthily, is the connection between the temporal and spiritual things. So tight. :) I love this Gospel and I know it is true. Christ lives and is our Savior.

Okay... I see you killa.

Heyyyyyy everybody!!! This week was amazing!:) But I am going to start with the questions from my mother real quick. :)

-Your boy is good. Really good and happy!:)
-This week was pretty awesome. I stayed really warm. Just wore my sweater around. I havent used the big coat yet but I am thinking that this week I will because it is going to rain alot. :(
-I dont ever play the piano here. The ward has like 4 people who play the piano very well. :(
-I got my hump day package!!!!! WHOOO I totally wear the camel shirt to bed every night. Its the best hahaha. :) THANKYOU SO MUCH. Also a HUGE shout out to the Brophy family from California. Thankyou so much for the card. :) I love you guys so much!!! Not to mention also mom.... the choice of cookies that you put in there.... INCREDIBLE. I almost vomited it was so good.
-The family night topic could be about humility and pride. Go to preach my gospel mom and there are plenty of scriptures you can choose. :)

So this week was tighhhhht. :)

So this week as missionaries we organized an activity for the ward about missionary work. :) So we called it the night of deserts! Everyone that came brought a desert to share and there were prizes for various things like: flavor, presentation, texture, etc. (so everybody got a certificate) and played a couple games then we ate all the deserts together! What does that have to do with missionary work right? Well, as missionaries (because we are 8 in the ward) we put on a play for all the members.) We made skits of us tracting and knocking on doors and how sometimes the people will reject us etc. So we showed them that situation... then we showed them the situation of when the members give us references and how effecient it is. (i know my spelling is bad... i am sorry... my grammar too i am sure) So it was pretty funny and spiritual. I wore my camel shirt in front of everybody hahaha. :)

But a cool quick spiritual story was this Thursday. My companion and I left the house and it was pretty clear outside and warm. Well, mid-day it starts POURING rain and my companion and I were outside knocking on doors for a couple hours in this pouring rain. So finally, in the street the zl´s called us asking if we were cold (hahahah i have no idea why but they are hilarious) So i told them yes and asked if they would pray for us that we can get in a house. So they told us they would. We also stoppped in that moment and said a prayer that we could knock on a door and they would let us in to teach them the gospel. Well, we finished the prayer and knocked on the door in front of us and guess what happened? Yeah dude they totally let us in!:) We taught about the Restoration and they said they would read and pray. :) Amazing how prayer works.

When life gets too hard to stand, kneel. May we stay close to the ground and be humble and ask God for divine help. He knows us and hears us.

I love you all so much. :)

Today we went golfing...it was superrrr tight and I played decent haha :)

GEEEEZ!

Alrightyyyy so this week was sickkkk but we gonna kick it off with the Q´s of the week . :)

-I have not gotten my hump day package yet! this wednesday I am sure. :)
-I havent taken a TON of pictures this week.... i actually only took a selfie in the bathroom...... dang it.
-My area is pretty city.... its awesome! There are always people walking around outside!
-I dont have my duty to god coin with me... i think I left it at home!
-I dooooo have something for you guys to study this week!:) Study 3 Nephi 11. SICKEST chapter ever. I love it and have recently been studying it. :) Mom, maybe read it before then make up some questions or show a video about Jesus Christ after. Pretty sweet message. :)

Alrighty. So this week a couple cool things have happened. I have a CRAZY story then a pretty spiritual story. :)

So the crazy storrrrry. I was in divisions with another missionary for 2 days this week (Elder Goode from Syracuse, Utah). And it was like 6:30 at night and we were walking pretty calm just hanging out and contacting when all of a sudden a 14 year old came across the road RIGHT IN FRONT of us and got nailed my a car. Literally like 10 feet in front of us. He got hit and the kid flew like 15 feet and his bike like 20.... the impact literally knocked the kids shoes off. He landed on the ground and was concious (idk if I spelled that right or not...) but wasnt moving a bunch. So Elder Goode ran and got his bike out of the road and like 50 people (that dont usually answer the door for us) come running out of the houses around us and make a huge circle around the kid. *Spoiler... the kid is fine and will be okay dont worry kiddos* But when I walked over there were two things I immediately noticed...
1. His leg was DEFINITELY broken and out of place and
2. ALL the ribs on the left side were also broken.
It was pretty crazy and nasty to see. We tried to offer a blessing but the people wouldnt let us get near him. Pretty crazy!

Look both ways before crossing the street.

Lastly, this week my companion and I have been striving to love all those that we see. We have been striving to talk to everyone and the Lord has blessed us! This Saturday we talked with one of our investigators and put a date of when they are going to get married and baptized. The first and second week of September. When we did, our investigator asked us... so what do I need to do to be 100% ready to be baptized.... I think I puked. SO SICK. We made goals and set out the plan of what we are going to teach to help Him be baptized but he commited to read the Book of Mormon and pray of the things we will teach Him. He is awesome. God truly touches the hearts of the people. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is our perfect example in this life. If the people we talk to can understand the purpose and importance of our Savior, what He did for us... they will understand the importance of following His example and His commandments. :) I know our Savior lives and loves us. May we strive to be more and more like Him, so we can be found clean in the last day. If we are far from the path, there is still time. Repent and change! He is all merciful and desires that all His children can come unto Him.

I love this gospel and all of you. Be safe killas.

Penguin Sliding Down Lions Back

Hey everybody! Its ya boi Elder Brophyyyyy. :) Got some questions today so I am pretty stoked. :)

-I have a quick story I will share today about some investigators that we are teaching. :)
-The screws in my collarbone dont really bother me with my backpack. Only sometimes but almost never.
-I have been taking pictures... i will confess.... not as many as i should. I promise this week I will take..... 15. :)
-I live with Elder Cummings and Elder Parker
-Most of the Elders live in a house of 4. Sometimes 2 and very rarely 6
-Its too cold sometimes to hang clothes outside so with a heated fan sometimes I just hold my clothes close to it to dry them off hahaha
-I received the postcards from Europe... they are SICK

Anyways, this week was pretty intense! We had a very good time and saw the hand of God in the work. :)

Anyways a pretty cool story this week happened with our investigator Felipe and his girlfriend Andrea. We had planned a quick lesson for them before we went over this week so that we could really be ready to just drop a spiritual bomb up in there. So we went, taught the lesson (which by the way.... my companion being new and learning the lessons just has the most powerful testimony i have ever heard... when he testifies... its like being upper-cutted by the spirit, I learn alot from my companion Elder Lozano) and really focused on Christ and what He has done for us. At the end of the lesson we invited them to come to church, get married, and be baptized. They looked at each other for a moment then Felipe said... (along the lines of this) ¨we have actually been talking about this very thing, we know that we have been receiving blessings that we honestly dont deserve... we want to have an eternal family and live with God again.¨ I literally vomitted right then and there on the floor. So sick! (I didnt really vomit bro... its an expression). So they committed to being married and baptized in the next couple months. Pretty crazy right?

We were very happy. I am so glad and grateful that God can touch the hearts of people that we teach through the Spirit. He is all powerful. He is the one who can make people change. Not us... we are simply instruments in his hands (as I hope we all can become through obedience, desire, diligence, and love). May we be obedient and love Him over all other things. PLEASE, make time for the spiritual things before the worldly things.

Love you all. Be safe!

Finding New People!:)

Hey everybody! How the heck is everyone?:) I am doing SO good today and it was an awesome week!:) A couple questions this week....

Training is AWESOME. My companion is a beast so it really isnt training hahaha. :)
It is pretty chill. Its more challenging in the side of having patience but besides that not really. :)
I got the cookies and letters a while ago and I LOVED them. :) THANKYOU so much mom. :)
I am still in his ward. :)
Elder Lozano is awesome. He is pretty funny and reallyyyy awkward hahah it keeps it interesting.
The area we are in is VERY small so we have been contacting a TON to find a lot of new people to baptize.
Its awesome. :)
I am very warm because I have been using my sleeping bag. Its the BOMB. :)-Yes Mom, I do have swag...
-Last I checked I benched like 340.... something like that
-Yeah when I stubbed my toe this week I only cried for 20 minutes. nbd

So anyways. This week was pretty awesome! During the week my companion and I had a great time. We saw a TON of miracles and the hand of God in everything that we did. It was pretty incredible. (PS.... yes those questions are a joke ha... ha.. hahah) We ended up finding a lot of new investigators this week but a couple were a little hesitant to accept a baptismal invitation. Kinda a bummer but with more faith and obedience on our part, I know that they will accept this next time. It has rained a little bit this week which makes things a little complicated... the Chileans are SO funny... when it rains it is like everybody just dies. THEY DONT LEAVE THEIR HOUSES. It is almost like they are obligated to stay in their houses because the rain is cold/dangerous/uncomfortable hahah i dunno. But I love them anyways.

Another quick cool little thing that happened this week was when me and Elder Cummings had to go into Santiago for a doctors appointment for the back of Elder Cummings (also, please pray for him that his back can get better so that he can start working again), and when we started getting into the really rich part of Santiago we started seeing some SWEET cars haha. I have officially seen a Volkswagon Golf gtR. It was soooooo cool looking I would say myself.. If i behave myself maybe my parents will help me get one one day...... (hint). Hahaha naw thats pretty worldly.

But yeah. I am gonna dip out real quick but I know Christ lives. The best recorded fact in history is the story of the birth and mission of our Savior Jesus Christ on earth. I know that He suffered for each and every one of us. And I know that through Him, we can overcome sin and obtain an eternal family. That is what I want and I know that is what He wants from me.

May we all continue down the path and endure to the end. He will carry us through the hard times in our lives when we are His faithful disciples.

I love you all. Be safe!

Week of Legends

Hey everybody! We just straight chillin it here in Chile kinda being cold and such! Todayyyy there are no questions for anybody so thats chill. I am going to hop right into it.

This week has been pretty awesome! I was in Santiago for Monday and almost all of Tuesday picking up Elder Lozano which was awesome! We got home on Tuesday at like 6:30 and started working really hard until 10:00 at night (because we had permission to stay out a little bit later! We kinda got to our new sector and kinda realized that it was kinda.... dead hahaha. There wasnt a lot of investigators and not a ton of less active members either. SO, this week we have just been out in the street allll the time. It is pretty awesome!

It has definitely been hard on me and I am sure on my comp being out walking around and kinda being rejected this week but we have definitely seen the blessings. I know that we, as missionaries, only have 2 years of our entire life to wear the plaque and be able to invite other children of God to be baptized. How short of a time that is!! I have really come to the realization of how much I need to use this short amount of time to learn and put everything I have to the Lord. The mission... honestly has never been a sacrifice to me. But a priveledge and a grand opportunity. I love the gospel and I love being a missionary. Please! Continue praying for us that we can have a lot of success and miracles here in Melipilla with my companion. I know that when we put in our part... God will do the rest. The Savior lives and loves us. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Gods kingdom here in this earth.

Every be SUPER freaking safe this week. I love you all and pray that we all might endure to the end.

PS... also the 4th of July was on Saturday (the same day as the soccer game of Chile, so we had to stay inside almost all day) and we celebrated a little bit with cookies, cake, pizza, and a good ole talk of american baseball. Hahahah it was awesome. GO USA!

With Love

Elder Brophy

I feel sooo... Old.

Heyyyyy everybody! Real quick before we get into the meat of the conversation, we straight going to hit up the questions from my momma.

-I havent gotten the Bday Package yet! It still hasnt made it!:(
-The transfersssss. Well I left my last sector and now I am going into another sector whitewash (kinda) training! Haaha pretty cool so now I have a little kid in the mission. He arrives tomorrow!
-I havent made a cake yet because I havent had time but tonight I think I will!
-I havent had contact with Bro. Ortega yet but I think I will see him tomorrow!:)
-I have opened the Bday card that I brought with me. Thankyou sooooo much!
-I have seen a HUGEEEEE spider once but besides that... nothing.
-Its pretty safe where I live! Its not too gangster so everythings chill. I am not worried about it to be honest. I know the Lord protects his missionaries.
-I would definitely say that yes I am more thankful for the USA being here but yes I do LOVE it here.

SOOOOO, today I turned 19...... I am sooo old. hahahah but thats tight! Right now I am with Elder Clegg who is also going to be training and we are staying in Santiago today because tomorrow we have to go pick up our kids in Maipu. Its going to be awesome. I am pretty excited to see who my companion will be!

Anyways, this last week has been amazing. I honestly have loved and enjoyed every moment of it. (Oh, and to clarify reallyyyy fast, yes i am still in Melipilla and in the same ward but different sector again!) I love the people here. I love the mission and I love Chile. When I said goodbye to everyone yesterday it was really hard but fulfilling. It was hard because I love them... but I also left feeling okay because I did everything that I could to help them. I know that Christ lives. I know he is our Savior and that he directs missionary work. May we allllllll focus a little bit more on how we can become more like Him. I know that when we do, we will see changes in our lives and we will come closer to God.

Everyone be safe this week. I send my love to all. The Gospel has been restored... Let us be happy killas!

Happy Fathers Day!

The Qs peeps. :)

-This week has been very good but very frustrating! hhahah its awesome!:)
-I sent a couple letters with Bro. Ortega and my SD cards for you guys to look at the pictures and videos i have taken!
-The cooler weather is VERY nice. And its not humid.... very dry here!
-I dont think I will be with Elder Richards after this week! :( Cuz he is a beast! I am almost sure one of us is leaving the sector...

So it sounds like everything is super chill but crazy at home! oh but firstly.... Happy Fathers Day Pops! I hope you had a great day! I was thinking about you! Everybody seeming to vacation all over the place! Like I said, this week for me has been AWESOME but very frustrating for the fact of the results of the week. We had a lot of tests put in front of us this week that we needed to experience and learn a little bit about patience. We worked very hard this week but it just seemed to be that nobody wanted to open there doors to us or simply didnt answer their doors. And sometimes that happens right? BUT this week we are going to take out the trash and work harder than ever! And I know that we can find miracles and work hard because whom the Lord calls, the Lord qualifies.

Something pretty small but really cool that happened this week was a contact that we had. Soooo like 2 weeks ago we contacted a lady in front of her house, testified the trash out of everything and ended up giving her a pamphlet of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Wellllll like 2 days ago we went by to see how she was and she came running out of the house basically and asking US if we had time to share a message with her. Sadly, she was alone in the house at this time but we rescheduled a time to return to answer her questions. She told us that she read the pamphlet and answered the questions in the back but still has a couple questions in her head that she wants to ask us this next Wednesday. That was just a cool little testimony builder of the fact that I am nothing! The Lord knows all and prepares the people that we are guided to through the Spirit. I know that if we focus on following the Spirit, it will guide us to where we need to go.... choose the right way.... and know what to say at the right moment. I love this gospel!

I love you all sooooo much! When you see the missionaries... let them in your house hahahah and give em so juice or something hahaha. Continue seeking to feel the spirit in your life everyday. I exhort you.

stay safe

Peace out
